••• Mixed media Art journal page •••

Hello my Arty and crafty friends,

This is Archana here, Hope you guys are doing great, today I come up with another mixed media project for you all using Craftyscrappers amazing shimmer sprays and stamp set called “A walk to remember”  This is what we are going to create today :

On a blank page I created texture using Craftyscrappers stencil called “Rangoli” randomly and also spread some texture paste using palate knife as you can see in below picture .

I created horizon line using black acrylic paint in the middle of page so that it will be easier to have reflected image. I also created horizontal and vertical lines using palate knife to give abstract look to whole page.

I sprayed the amazing and sparkly having different shades of Shimmer sprays from Craftyscrappers, starting from edges of page I used “Muddy pool” And on horizon lines used “Rusty denim”, “Ocean waves”, “Sweet sunshine”, “Dancing peacock” I sprayed vertically.

Next I stamp the image from stamp set called “A walk to remember” and colored it using diluted acrylic paints, you can use watercolors or markers or any medium that you are comfortable with.

Now the fun part, I stamped the same image on Mirror stamp set and used that stamp set on page to have mirror image, I didn’t stamp exact whole image because I wanted to have that image incomplete and to blend in the background and have abstract look to it.

To finish the page I Added Butterfly and beautiful quote from the same stamp set and distress the edges of page using black ink pad.

Here are some close-up pictures if this art journal spread:

••• Mixed Media altered MDF board •••

Hello My Arty and Crafty Friends, This is Archana Here, Hope you guys are doing great, I am super excited today to be here with another Mixed Media Project... Here is a project which we are going to create Today:

I took 10 inch circle shaped MDF board, and prime it using gesso, but instead of using brush, i used palate knife to apply gesso, this way i have texture on the surface, it is the best way to create texture on any surface easily, this is how it looks

I used MDF photo frame with word LOVE and steampunk gears of different shapes & sizes, which are easily available online or any local craft store, and then glue them to form a random composition.

After everything dries completely, i added resin Victorian frame and cute little angel cupid, i also added paper flowers, don't worry about the embellishment colors, at the end we are going to cover everything with gesso.. and as i always says use whatever you have in your stash, okay so moving on to rest tutorial..

Added micro beads, this is one of my favorite thing to add to any mixed media project, and later cover entire project with gesso.. This seems all confusing and hard but trust me guys once you start building layers and embellishment you will find it easier than ever

I started coloring using Craftyscrappers "Shimmer sprays" named Juicy watermelon and Sweet sunshine, after you finish the spraying before it gets dried just tilt the project little bit so this way both the color will flow & blend together.. these sprays are so amazing that it goes on any surface as you can see here, after it dries completely i used "fixative spray" to seal that shine n color, as these are water based.

Next I used gesso to highlight the texture and elements using dry brush technique, here the base coat colors does not scattered because i have sealed the colors using fixative, as you can see here, how beautiful finish i got in this project...

I paint letter LOVE and cupid using Craftyscrappers pearl finish color Dreamy Daffodils and gold touch color Tasty Cranberries and used black paint to give depth to the project

Added pearls and paint them using gold touch acrylic paint " Tasty cranberries" , also splattered this color a bit, and voila!! this is final and glorious look of the finished Project.

Here are some close up pictures of this project:
