••• Mixed Media Altered Brush •••

Welcome everyone !!!
This is Archana here, today I have come up with super simple mixed media project, in this will show you how to create rusty look and patina effect using chalk paints and sprays...
So this is what we are going to create today,

Step by step Making Process:

  1. I took big size brush and on front side I glue down some jigsaw pieces with the help of glue gun.
  2. In an empty bowl I mixed art stones and PVA glue and apply this mixture on random places, I follow the same process for adding micro beads too.
  3. Next I wrapped thread around the brush handle to create texture.
  4. I wanted to create patina effect on brush so once everything dries completely, I covered entire project using Craftyscrappers chalk paints namely “Lyrical birdie” & “Hazey cucumber”. This two shades are perfect to create patina effect .
  5. I wanted to have rusty look too on this brush so I sprayed Shimmer spray called “Muddy Pool” to do so. I just loved the way my project was involving ;-)
  6. Added “Bronze” Metallic luster Shimmer paint using dry brush technique. This paint has such an awesome shimmer and metallic finish that I just can’t resist myself and also colored the project focal point i.e. Dream catcher.
  7. Glue down the dream catcher on the project and finish this by adding sentiment “Memories”

And Taaaaa-Daaaa !!! There you go, we finish this beautiful piece.. Here are some more pictures of this projects..
