••• Mixed Media on Cardboard •••

Hello and welcome everyone,
This is Archana here, I have created this mixed media project few days back, and I am totally in love with the way it turns out to be..This project is super simple and easy to make...

List of Supplies:

Blank cardboard
Empty paint tubes
Thread
Mini brushes
Mdf Heart shape
Metal butterfly
Black gesso
White gesso
Shimmer paint “Pacific Crystal” and “Fresh Pear”

Brief Process
  • I took blank cardboard piece and glued some empty acrylic paint tubes, some tubes are totally empty and some tubes are like have bit dried paint inside them.
  • To add more texture I used thread and glued it randomly on the tubes.
  • Next I pasted some old mini brush and heart shape on it. To give this composition together I glued metal butterfly as you see in the final picture.
  • I also added broken frame at the corner of the piece.
  • Covered everything using craftyscrappers “black gesso”
  • Applied Craftyscrappers Shimmer paint “Pacific Crystal” and “Fresh Pear” from gold touch range using dry brush technique.
  • To give final touch applied Craftyscrappers “white gesso” using dry brush technique again. , and Taaaa-Daaaaaaa, we finish this super simple mixed media on cardboard.

••• Mixed media Scrapbook Layout •••

Hello my arty and crafty friends,
This is Archana here, Creative designer @Craftyscrappers
Hope you guys have enjoyed festival Holi with full of colors, Today I have another inspiration project to share with you and that mixed media scrapbook layout..  So this is what we are going to create today ↓

List of Supplies:
12x 12 Cardboard
White gesso
Craftyscrappers shimmer sprays “Ocean waves”, “Dancing peacock” and “Sweet Pumpkin”
Designer papers
Stamp set called “Rang bares”
Chipboard embellishment
Foam flowers
Shimmer paste “Jingle bells”

Brief Process
  • For a base I decided to use cardboard and to prepare it I removed upper part of cardboard paper to have see through of corrugated cardboard, this will add extra texture to the background.
  • Covered the entire cardboard using gesso.
  • Once the gesso dries completely I colored the cardboard using shimmer sprays “Ocean waves”, “Dancing peacock” and “Sweet Pumpkin”, and as you can see in the final image I haven’t covered entire cardboard.
  • Next I took few co-coordinating designer papers, tear down the edges of those papers, and arrange them forming a composition, there is no rule over here, you can arrange it however you want.
  • I also distress the edges of those papers using different shades of stamp pad.
  • Stamped image from stamp set called “Rang bares”, and colored it using diluted acrylic paints, this will be my focal image for this project.
  • Glued down the papers on the board and to lift it up from the background little bit I added cardboard pieces behind them
  • I also added few chipboard embellishment and foam flowers to complete the composition.
  • Placed the focal image and to add sparkle I applied shimmer paste “Jingle bells”
  • To finish the project added sentiment from the same stamp set and also added few sequins.
